Take Control With Nutritional Supplements

Updated: Jan 23, 2024

We all need nutritional supplements at some point! Surprisingly, I found that we are virtually all subject to forces beyond our control, for the most part, which makes supplements worth incorporating into our daily routines.

Supplements

Here is my list:

  • Poor quality of our soil. A plant is only as nutritious as the soil it is grown in. Today’s agricultural practices have been shown to cause a decrease in nutrient content.

  • Nutrient depletion. There is a documented decline in nutrient levels of fruits and vegetables with storage, transportation and storage.

  • Environmental toxins. We are exposed to a plethora of environmental toxins every day. Things like pesticides and pollution increase oxidative (free radical) stress in the body.

  • Inadequate fruit and veggie intake. Let’s face it, most of us don’t get the USDA-recommended 3 cups of veggies and 2 cups of fruit daily. Data show that only 11% of us actually reach this daily goal.

  • Additives. Artificial additives (preservatives, flavors, colors, etc.), are all nutrient robbers!

  • Medications. Many people take prescription and over-the-counter medications which can deplete nutrients in the body.

  • Biochemical individuality Each person is biochemically unique, so as I’ve said before, one size does not fit all. Everyone needs vitamins and minerals, but in different amounts based on their biochemistry, genetics, and the like.

  • Chronic stress. We are a totally stressed-out society, and chronic stress depletes your body of vitamins and minerals more rapidly.

  • Viruses abound. COVID is still very much with us. As is the seasonal flu and the very virulent RSV. Viral infection itself can result in changes in nutritional status.

On this last topic of viral infection, I am a particular fan of resveratrol and zinc as powerful antioxidants, as found in Aspid RDZ. Antioxidants work by neutralizing and eliminating free radicals from the bloodstream in an effort to keep your body functioning optimally.

In most cases, however, those free radicals outnumber the concentration of naturally occurring antioxidants in your body. To maintain a healthy status quo, then, you need a constant supply of antioxidants from external sources, such as resveratrol and zinc supplements and vitamin D. There is only one product with this powerful combination. It’s Aspid RDZ.

Your choice of antioxidant supplementation is important for staying healthy and providing immunity support. Dose, source, quality and bioavailability are critical. I’ll address some of those in subsequent writings.

Until next time, take care of yourselves and each other.
